post deactivating all social media accounts and intentionally/mindfully using devices, one of the metrics I have been curious about is my screen time. I don’t believe that it is possible to reduce it to less than an hour everyday because we do use our phones for various important use-cases.

to reflect on: what you think is important vs what can you let go, so a new routine can be formed

instagram has been my work for a while now and the line had blurred a long time back - between using it for work (marketing for random movements1) and mindless scrolling, getting exposed to multitude of new information which impacts my ability to do my own creative work.

i intend to understand how to best use my devices in a way that adds to my life. and develop routines that allow me to integrate social media back in my life, as a way to connect, communicate and share my work.

use technology, rather than get used by technology

i dont think it makes sense to track screen time anymore. i use phone consciously and intentionally to stay connected with family, to post on social media ( i wasnt planning to be away forever , i have things to do there ). but i will come up with rules for social media going forward.
